SUMMARY:Graduate Student Seminar Series - Katherine Abrey
DESCRIPTION:Graduate Student Seminar Series\nPlease ensure you invite your Principal Investigator by adding their email via the ‘Add Guest’ button and they will also be notified of your presentation.\nLocation: 2nd Floor Auditorium (TRI/KITE) – 550 University Ave\nPresentation Title: Wall-Induced Fluidization in Shear-Thinning Granular Biomaterials for Extrusion Bioprinting\nAbstract:\nExtrusion bioprinting with granular bioinks is often hindered by sedimentation\, clogging\, and uneven material distribution\, driven by complex particle interactions.\nThis work investigates how engineered surface textures within the extrusion pathway can facilitate particle rearrangement to mitigate these irregularities and improve printing fidelity.\nSupervisor Name: Axel Guenther\nYear of Study: 2\nProgram of Study: MASc\nPowered by Calendly.com

SUMMARY:Graduate Student Seminar Series - Emma Calovini
DESCRIPTION:Graduate Student Seminar Series\nPlease ensure you invite your Principal Investigator by adding their email via the ‘Add Guest’ button and they will also be notified of your presentation.\nLocation: 2nd Floor Auditorium (TRI/KITE) – 550 University Ave\nPresentation Title: From Plaster to Pixels: Comparing Traditionally and Digitally-made Ankle-foot Orthosis (AFO) Scanning and Design Methods\nAbstract:\nAnkle-foot orthoses are used to stabilize the ankle\nand foot. They are traditionally fabricated through a manual plaster process but are increasingly being manufactured using digital technology. When using digital technology\, it is critical to capture the foot and ankle in alignment in all planes. Sagittal-plane alignment is well understood\, but optimal transverse/frontal alignment remains unclear and will be assessed by testing new positioning during digital fabrication.\nSupervisor Name: Dr. Jan Andrysek\nYear of Study: 2\nProgram of Study: MASc\nPowered by Calendly.com
