Presentation Title: Validity Assessment of a 3D Depth Sensor for Movement Tracking in Children with Cerebral Palsy
Abstract: Bootle Blast (BB) and Bootle Boot Camp (BC) are interactive video games to support rehabilitation for children with cerebral palsy (CP) using a low-cost 3D depth sensor, the Orbbec Persee+. The aim of this study is to establish the clinical utility and accuracy of the Orbbec Persee+ as a sensor for tracking therapy exercises and movement during game play. Thirty children (with CP and typically developing) will execute 15 repetitions of therapeutically relevant upper and lower limb exercises within the context of playing 7 mini-games. Kinematic measurements will be computed from the joint coordinate data of the Orbbec and a gold standard marker-based motion analysis system for comparison. The accuracy of the Orbbec will be determined through the Pearson’s correlation coefficient (R), coefficient of variation (CV), root mean squared error (RMSE), Bland-Altman plot (BAP), and a paired t-test (p<0.05).
