Research Interests

The Lan lab is interested in developing and using novel high-throughput experimental methods to study complex biological systems such as the human gut microbiome. Sitting at the interface between biology, physics, chemistry, and machine learning, we combine expertise from diverse disciplines to invent new approaches to tackle pressing questions in biology. At the same time, we use these new powerful approaches to study and manipulate the human gut microbiome.
