Summary
You will design, implement, and maintain closed loop neurostimulation experimental pipelines and serve as a technical resource for electrophysiological data acquisition, signal processing, and analysis. This is an engineering and data science role.
Here’s What You Get to Do:
- Closed loop stimulation systems: Develop and maintain experimental setups integrating neural recording hardware, online signal processing, stimulators, and behavioral task software.
- Electrophysiology signal processing and analysis: Design and apply data processing and analysis pipelines for scalp and intracranial EEG.
- Infrastructure maintenance: Configure and maintain acquisition hardware, storage systems, and network infrastructure; perform preventative maintenance and fault diagnosis; liaise with IS and Research IT as needed.
- Training and technical support: Provide support to graduate students and research staff in data acquisition, signal processing methods, coding practices, and computational workflows.
- Frequently at a computer but will also need to be back and forth between imaging suites and lab area as well as in meetings in various locations in the Hospital and University.
Here’s what you need
- Graduate Degree in Engineering (preferred), Mathematics or Physics (or 3 years of equivalent work experience).
- Must have strong Python programming skills; competency will be tested during the interview.
- Must have proven digital signal processing experience. Please describe in application and be prepared to discuss in interview.
- Must have proven mathematical modeling and advanced statistical analyses experience. Please describe stats experience in application and be prepared to discuss in interview.
- Direct experience with EEG and/or intracranial EEG data.
- Experience maintaining and debugging experimental systems involving hardware-software integration.
- Proficiency in bash/Linux; experience with version control (Git).
- Experience in a research or academic health care environment preferred.
- Evidence of research productivity (authorship on journal articles, conference abstracts, etc.) is an asset. Please include list of publications on application.
- A commitment to understanding and aiding in the pursuit of equity, diversity and inclusion objectives
