Research Interests

Dr. Steinman’s research interests are in the areas of Biomedical Engineering and Fluid Sciences. His work focuses on the integration of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and medical imaging, and the use of such “image-based CFD” and “virtual imaging” techniques to improve the understanding, diagnosis and treatment of vascular diseases. Steinman’s current research focuses on rupture risk prediction for cerebral aneurysms; solving the nature of turbulence in blood flow; developing interactive ultrasound training simulators; and developing flow visualization and sonification techniques.
