Presentation Title: Precision immune engineering by decoupling HLA-peptide binding
Abstract: We are a mammalian synthetic biology lab with an interest in developing tools for human cell and gene therapy. Currently, there are many new synthetic biology based engineered cells in the research and discovery phase with the hope of emerging as new therapeutics. We believe that once most of the studies are passed this phase, there is a safety problem that prevents them from unleashing their full potential. Through my PhD projects, we proposed a strategy for decoupling HLA binding from engineered proteins that we think might overcome the safety problem.
