We are excited to announce the launch of the 3rd round of the Innovation in Wearable Therapeutic Technologies Research Funding competition in partnership with The SONA Group and Vee Technologies. This round of funding presents an excellent opportunity for researchers to develop cutting-edge, smart fabric-based wearables with potential commercial applications. In the previous two rounds, 15 proposals received funding from SONA, Vee, and Mitacs.
To broaden the reach and encourage strong submissions, we kindly ask that you forward the announcement and attached documentation to your colleagues at your institution who may be interested in applying.
Key highlights of the competition:
· Each project must include at least one KITE Scientist as an applicant.
· Collaboration with other FIBRE academic institutions is highly encouraged.
· Up to $54,000 in cash from Vee Technologies is available per project.
· Unlimited in-kind contributions from The SONA Group are also available, which include access to infrastructure, expertise, and materials to support the projects.
· Additional funding for post-secondary students and postdoctoral fellows may be available through Mitacs.
· Applicants are encouraged to seek opportunities with other organizations (Mitacs, granting agencies, sponsors, donors, etc.).
· Highly innovative proposals with immediate commercialization potential will be given priority consideration.
