Ammara Faiyaz
Biography
Ammara Faiyaz is a PhD student in Biomedical Engineering and a Neuromodulation Specialist at the University of Toronto. Her research at Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital focuses on using neuromodulatory devices to track brain activity in children with cerebral palsy and other mobility conditions, optimizing the performance of assistive prosthetics and orthotics. With a background in neuroscience, psychology, and biology, she has contributed to research in Alzheimer’s disease, behavioral epigenetics, oncology, vision psychophysics, and neuroimaging. Passionate about bridging neuroscience and engineering, Ammara is also involved in neurotechnology entrepreneurship, developing innovative neurorehabilitation tools for individuals with mobility impairments.
