Ferdinand Reke Avikpe
Biography
Reke is a PhD student at the Institute of Biomedical Engineering in Prof. Cristina Amon’s lab, where his research focuses on computationally modeling the cellular dynamics for the differentiation of human pluripotent stem cells (hPSCs) into cardiomyocytes and induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) into alveolar epithelial cells. Before joining the University of Toronto, Reke earned a BSc (Hons) in Biochemistry and a BA in Mathematics from the University of Winnipeg. His work aims to bridge the gap between computational modeling and experimental findings to enhance our understanding of stem cell differentiation for regenerative medicine applications.
