Saving lives – one breath at a time

August 4, 2021 | Derek Watt completed his Master of Applied Science (MASc) degree in Biomedical Engineering in 2007. Now working as the Director of Commercial Products at Thornhill Medical, Derek is part of a team that designs, builds, and supplies a robust line of field-ready respiratory devices. Thornhill Medical’s products are specifically designed for military, field hospital, transport medical and first responder teams.

April 21, 2021 | Dr. Cindy Yip is currently a Global Project Leader in Immunology and Heamatology at the Global Rare Disease division of Chiesi Group. Graduated from BME in 2010, Dr. Yip completed her Masters in Systems Biology and PhD in mechanobiology research. Throughout her career, Dr. Yip continues to apply her biomedical engineering knowledge to advance patient care.
