Research Interests
The Aung Lab aims to quantitatively understand immunological phenomena and engineer approaches to modulate immunological pathways for therapeutic benefit. Specifically, we are interested in:
- developing analytical tools to investigate the changes in lymphocyte populations that recognize, expand, and differentiate in response to vaccine antigens following immunization
- creating strategies to broaden the role of B-cells in response to diseases
- devise biological and fluidic based tools to model and study human specific humoral responses
Ultimately, we will, first and foremost, strive to identify crucial immunology questions and rely on a plethora of engineering approaches to obtain in-depth answers. From these findings, we hope to guide and develop the next generation of immunotherapeutics.
